Street Racing games are all about the excitement and thrill of racing. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition has everything from SRS and much more. SRS simply can not compete with the best games in the street Racing Genre. The Audio is exactly what you’d expect, with a mix of Hip-Hop genres, but it doesn’t have the same punch as the soundtrack on Midnight Club 3.

The lack of speed makes the whole experience quite boring and completely free from the thrill that you would go with games of the same genre. As with all street racers, you can use Turbos to give you a speed boost if needed, but despite the blurring that indicates speed, they still look like they’re moving at 50 mph. Even if you ride in a high-performance vehicle, you barely feel like you’re reaching 50 mph. The main problem with the game is its complete lack of speed. Cars can take damage, but it’s not on the same level as Burnout 3 or the recent Forza Motorsport. Car models and environments are sufficient, but it lacks the details we now expect from a racing game that enters so after in a console’s life cycle. Visually, the game looked outdated last year, and things did not improve. The game is still slow and it just can’t generate the buzz that other games in the same Genre do. Online games for up to four players are supported, but the problems that plague single-player play are transferred to the online experience.

If you’re expecting an experience similar to the sit-of-your-pants thrill ride that was Midnight Club 3, you’ll be disappointed. This leaves the city lifeless and the races seem rather reserved. Unlike games like Burnout and Midnight Club 3, there is little traffic on the streets.
Srs street racing syndicate review upgrade#
Trying to see what the selected upgrade will have for the performance of your car is not obvious, and the color scheme makes reading the text a real burden on your eyes. While it’s probably an idyllic situation for a number of men, it’s one of the weirdest rewards I’ve seen in a video game.Īs a road racing game, there is the usual tuning and upgrading, but the menu system is unfortunately rather poorly designed. Just like cars, girls can be changed at any time by going to their Garage and choosing a new model. You unlock new girls by completing new challenges, but you have to keep driving well to keep them interested. Girlfriends and how they are depicted in the game is quite ridiculous.

You often have to repair your car halfway through a series of races, so you need to quickly learn how to drive carefully. Money is very important because you need it to buy upgrades, repair damage, participate in races and accept bets. Here you can earn respect, earn money and even win girlfriends by participating in road races. In Arcade mode, you can get straight into the Action to have fun quickly and instantly, but in street racing mode, you want to spend most of your time. The game features the standard game modes, where Arcade, multiplayer and a career mode are all that the game has to offer. Codemasters must have thought the game had something, but I can’t see what it is. About eight months after, the game hit UK Shores, and with games like Need for Speed Underground and The brilliant Midnight Club 3 already on the market, you have to wonder what SRS has on its rivals. In August 2004, Street Racing Syndicate was released in North America.
